May 11, 2026 — Alliance Diplomacy System Update (Phase 1)

Summary:
- Removed previous Active / Passive one-way alliance relationships
- All existing None relationships renamed to Neutral
- Forming Allied or NAP relations now requires approval from the target alliance's Leader or Co-Leaders
- Allied and NAP alliances can no longer attack each other's cities
- Allied alliances no longer block each other's territories
- Added new Embargo relation; embargoed alliances cannot pass through your cities
- Alliances at War can only return to Neutral through an accepted Offer Peace request

April 7, 2026 — Conquer System Improvements & Bug Fixes

Summary:
- Added a new Conquer window showing current conquered cities and full conquest history
- Window automatically pops up on new conquests (can disable via "Show on new conquests")
- Accessible anytime via Conquer → Conquer Cities
- Conquest history supports time sorting and infinite scroll loading
- Added Find Targets feature to discover unconquered cities
- Reduced 'Tournament Champion' achievement max medals 5000 → 2000
- Fixed issue with editing army in alliance capital

March 12, 2026 — Regional War Restarted

Summary:
- Regional War has been restarted
- Gems can now be used to accelerate movement to regional war cities
- Removed display of the winning alliance flag on the map
- Removed the daily resource bonus previously granted to the winning alliance
- Bases can now be relocated into the regional war area
- Protected players cannot capture regional war cities

March 2, 2026 — UI Enhancements & Bug Fixes

Summary:
- Added new animation effects for names and flags on the map
- Introduced a scrolling major events bar at the bottom of the page with clickable details
- Achievements button now shows a notification indicator when a new achievement is unlocked
- Fixed an issue where Dependencies sometimes could not be established
- Fixed a glitch where entire page text could accidentally be selected

February 11, 2026 — Army/Navy/Air Force Edit Update

Summary:
- Manual troop recruitment option has been removed
- Troop numbers are now automatically determined by equipped weapons
- Adding or removing weapons will auto-adjust troop counts based on required crew size
- Warning message appears in Edit interface if stationed city lacks sufficient recruitable troops
- Army and Navy retain a minimum of 10 troops when edited; Air Force retains a minimum of 1 troop

January 23, 2026 — Referral System

Summary:
- Access your personal referral link via the Share button in the top-left
- Each player has a unique referral link tied to their account
- System tracks activity generated through the link, including:
- New player registrations
- Returning players rejoining the game
- Rewards are converted into Gems based on referral activity
- Earned Gems can be claimed at any time

January 7, 2026 — Map System Update

Summary:
- Game map migrated from Google Maps to a new open-source map architecture
- Google Maps watermarks removed
- Old UI is no longer supported; all players now use the new UI
- Players encouraged to test the new map system and report issues via Discord
- Marks the beginning of a new era for Cities War

December 1, 2025 — Territory Tax Reintroduction

Summary:
- Reintroduced a Daily Territory Tax to maintain balanced alliance competition
- Alliances with less than 5,000,000 km² pay no tax
- Alliances exceeding 5,000,000 km² pay daily tax: (Territory − 5,000,000) / 100
- Tax is calculated every 10 minutes and deducted proportionally from the alliance bank
- If the alliance bank lacks sufficient gold, the territory will collapse due to unpaid taxes

November 26, 2025 — Alliance Territory Championship Rewards

Summary:
- Gem rewards are only granted to players who earn more than 100 Medals during the season
- All participating players receive Resources and Gold based on total Medals earned
- All rewards are deposited into the Alliance Treasury
- Added a new Personal Medals Ranking for the current season
- Season History now shows detailed information for all past seasons

November 14, 2025 — Air Force Balance Adjustments

Summary:
- F-22 Raptor attack reduced from 2480 → 1680
- Rafale F4 attack reduced from 1980 → 1400
- Su-35 Flanker-E attack reduced from 1760 → 1300
- B-2 Spirit attack reduced from 5200 → 3900
- Removed restriction preventing Civilization Cities from being protected by Alliance Territory
- Added ranking showing total medals earned by alliance members during the current Territory Tournament season

November 6, 2025 — Regional Tournament Suspension & Treasury Equipment Conversion

Summary:
- Regional Tournament temporarily suspended due to limited competition
- Suspension allows time for the player base to grow for fairer future tournaments
- All Treasury-stored weapons will be automatically converted into Gems
- Conversion aims to maintain long-term balance and support new player integration

October 26, 2025 — Alliance Territory Championship & Defense Enhancements

Summary:
- Alliance Territory Championship replaces the previous Top Cities Tournament
- New 3-phase season structure: Preparation (1 day), War (30 days), Rest (3 days)
- Scoring updated every 10 minutes; based on territory area, city value, and population
- Rewards follow Top 100 system with added daily resource bonuses
- City Hall defense increased 15% → 20%
- Fortification anti-air defense increased 45% → 50%, and now gives 50% missile defense
- Increased air force fuel cost for attacks
- Air forces defending from nearby airports gain +10% defense
- Removed 100 km defensive airport limit; each city uses the nearest airport automatically
- Cities without measured area now receive a default circular area
- Lord City cooldown reduced to 24 hours
- Capital City cooldown reduced to 6 hours

October 21, 2025 — Regional War Reward Cap

Summary:
- Introduced reward limits to maintain fair balance and sustainable progression
- Alliance Bank Cap: alliances stop receiving Gold rewards once bank reaches level limit
- Personal Treasury Weapon Limits:
- Army Weapons: 1,000
- Navy Weapons: 25
- Air Force Weapons: 300
- Limits apply only to rewarded weapons stored in the Treasury
- Change does not affect the current Regional War and will apply starting from the next season

October 9, 2025 — Newbie Protection & Fair Battle Adjustments

Summary:
- Players below Level 5 and registered within 7 days are protected from attacks
- Protection is lost for 12 hours if the protected player initiates an attack
- Top 100 cities owned by protected players are not protected
- Protected players cannot set Alliance Capitals/Borders or join Regional city conquests
- Level difference > 5: no loot gained
- Level difference > 10: no attack/defense XP earned
- Maximum City Durability increased 2000 → 3000
- Lower-level defenders gain bonus equal to (Attacker Level – Defender Level)%
- Resource city production increased by 15%

September 26, 2025 — City Durability

Summary:
- New City Durability attribute introduced; starts at 0 when a city is occupied
- Durability increases +1 per second up to 2000
- Every 100 Durability grants +1% defense bonus; max Durability (2000) gives +20% defense
- Captured cities reset Durability to 0; new owner must rebuild over time
- Alliance border city lost: Durability reduced by -500
- Border city Durability > 0: alliance territory does not immediately collapse
- Durability decreases over time; territory collapses when it reaches 0, allowing buffer for recapture

September 5, 2025 — Resource Production Boost & Level-Based Storage

Summary:
- All mining cities now produce at maximum-output rates:
- Oil: 2,140
- Steel: 3,300
- Food: 2,430
- Rare: 1,385
- Uranium: 210
- Maximum storage capacity for resources and gold now increases with player level
- Added Resource & Gold Capacity Bar to display current vs. maximum amounts
- Previously overflowed resources and gold automatically deposited into Alliance Treasury

August 20, 2025 — Achievements

Summary:
- Achievements accessible via the top-left Achievements button
- 7 Achievement Categories introduced:
- City Conqueror
- Dominion Mastery
- Offensive Glory
- Defensive Honor
- Tournament Champion
- Alliance Conqueror (capital captures tracked from 2024)
- Monument Builder
- Each category has 10 levels; completing levels grants Achievement Points and rewards
- Players ranked globally by total Achievement Points
- Player info window now shows progress when clicking Achievement Points
- Removed Refresh button; game now automatically reconnects if disconnected

August 8, 2025 — Dominion System

Summary:
- Dominion System allows players to expand influence by capturing and managing territory
- Claim a Dominion City for 1,000 Gold; city remains yours until claimed by another player
- You can revoke a Dominion City anytime; spent Gold is refunded
- Auto Dominion option automatically claims any newly occupied city
- Creating a Dominion:
- Need 5+ Dominion Cities in a region
- Use the 'Dominion' tab, select 3+ occupied cities to form enclosed area
- Dominion appears on world map; protected from attacks by other players
- Dominion Rewards: daily resources based on number and quality of enclosed cities
- Reward timer resets if Dominion is destroyed
- Timer pauses if you leave or lose Dominion, resumes with new Dominion
- Notes:
- Dominion can be within alliance territory but not protected by it
- Dominion borders cannot overlap alliance borders
- Missiles cannot attack Dominion borders

May 25, 2025 — Air Force

Summary:
- Airbase: must be built near a real-world airbase; relocation allowed with 6-hour cooldown
- Air Forces:
- Five aircraft types available; E-3 Sentry provides +20% Attack / +25% Defense buff
- Aircraft fly in straight lines; auto-engage targets upon arrival
- No attack cooldown; return to base after city attacks
- Units must be fully equipped and match troop seats
- Cannot attack cities within alliance territory but can strike airports
- Airports:
- Tap radar to reveal nearby airports; capturing adds them to Airports tab
- Each airport hosts up to 3 air forces; monuments appear in nearest city
- Missiles/armies/navies cannot target airports
- Combat Bonuses:
- Air forces gain Attack/Defense Boost up to 100%; reset only on defeat
- City fortifications provide +45% defense vs air attacks
- Supporting air forces from nearby airports auto-assist city defense within 100 km
- Other Updates:
- Base relocation shows nearby ports/airports for easier placement
- Unit lists now display number of weapons assigned
- Markers for bases and captured cities/airports remain visible
- Naval movement restricted to port cities

April 24, 2025 — Country System Overhaul

Summary:
- Country system now functions like Alliance Territories; define Capital and Borders
- Unlock country editing after occupying 3+ cities via the 'Country' tab → 'Edit Country'
- Capital must be placed within defined borders
- New country defense algorithm considers: Value, Population, Area; max defense bonus 24%
- Capital Connectivity Bonus: cities connected to capital gain extra defense; max bonus 40%
- Removed daily gold upkeep for countries
- Disabled 'Show Top Countries' to prevent scouting

March 10, 2025 — Military Airport Locations Request

Summary:
- New system for adding military airport locations in preparation for Air Force features
- Steps: Cities tab → Request → Military Airports → Enter name → Get Location → Submit for approval
- Airports must correspond to real-world military locations
- Maximum of 2 pending requests per player
- Approved airports can be viewed via View Approved Airports

Summary:
- Added Transactions button to view resource transactions from the last 3 days
- Removed system busy alert when refreshing market orders for better visibility
